DEWA’s R&D Centre launches its fourth Transactions Report

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Research and Development (R&D) Centre has published its fourth Transactions Report, highlighting the Scopus Indexed scientific and research papers presented at international conferences and journals in 2023. The report includes 71 research papers, marking a 14.5% increase compared to the previous year. The articles cover topics such as solar energy, water, energy efficiency, smart grid integration, Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, space technologies, and energy systems analysis.

DEWA has received many awards in recognition of the R&D Centre’s scientific contributions. Most notably, the Centre received the Best Paper Award 2023 from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for six papers presented at the first MENA Solar Conference, organised by DEWA in November 2023.

“We are proud of the significant achievements of Emirati research projects in international academic institutions, and their global recognition for excellence, leadership, and contributions to the scientific community in Dubai, the UAE, and worldwide. The R&D Centre supports DEWA’s efforts to anticipate and shape a sustainable future, develop long-term proactive plans to keep pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and innovate disruptive technologies. The Centre’s innovative applied research plays a crucial role in maintaining DEWA’s position as a global leader among utilities and in providing added value to our services, meeting the highest standards of availability, sustainability, quality, and reliability.
