The Sustainability and Innovation Centre of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has opened registration for the 6th cycle of the CleanTech Youth Programme, part of its ongoing efforts to prepare young Emiratis for the future energy landscape. The programme brings together promising leaders in the energy sector, students aged 20 to 24 and graduates in engineering or science from accredited institutions in the UAE. It features workshops, educational sessions and field tours delivered by experts, scientists and clean energy industry leaders.
The initiative supports the UAE’s vision of developing a generation ready to lead sustainable growth. It invests in young Emiratis by creating a positive environment that builds awareness of clean and renewable energy. Through this programme, the Sustainability and Innovation Centre strengthens its position as a global platform for youth development, honing participants’ skills and guiding them towards sustainable practices.
Many graduates have gone on to contribute to national efforts linked to the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which aim to source all of the emirate’s energy production from clean sources by 2050. To date, 117 young Emirati have completed the programme, with many now involved in research and innovation projects. Their experience has inspired them to pursue academic and professional paths focused on sustainability and innovation.
The curriculum covers a range of topics such as solar energy, energy storage, green hydrogen, pumped-storage hydroelectric power, wind energy, electric mobility, the circular economy, renewable energy finance, innovation and sustainability. The 6th cycle will take place from 20 to 30 July 2026. Interested candidates can register at https://shorturl.at/wvFRC.
