DEWA increases 2030 capacity target of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park by 60%

A recent report by the International Renewable Energy Agency, in collaboration with the COP30 Brazilian Presidency and the Global Renewables Alliance, revealed that global renewable energy capacity surged to a record 582 gigawatts (GW) in 2024, including 452GW from solar. These achievements are a strong push towards achieving the UAE Consensus target set during COP28 in Dubai, which calls for tripling renewables to 11.2 terawatts (TW) by 2030. This remarkable progress shows that the world is moving steadily towards the targeted goals and needs to continue this positive momentum by adding 1,122GW annually to achieve these global climate ambitions.

DEWA urges customers to take precautions to avoid power disruptions during rainy season

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has urged customers to take preventive measures to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and avoid internal faults during the rainy season. DEWA emphasised that following its guidelines can help prevent issues caused by water seeping into electrical wiring or panels. This awareness campaign is part of DEWA’s efforts to uphold the highest standards of service reliability and efficiency, while also enhancing customer safety and preparedness during changing weather conditions.

DEWA invites proposals for 7th phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has invited qualified companies and consortiums to submit proposals for the seventh phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. This phase will add 2,000 megawatts (MW) from photovoltaic solar panels and include a 1,400MW battery storage system with a six-hour capacity, providing a total storage capacity of 8,400 megawatt-hours. This makes it one of the world’s largest solar-plus-storage projects.

MBR Solar Park

SOQOOR Program

SOQOOR Program is a performance-based recognition award program for a specific segment of DEWA Customers (Contractors and Consultants performing non-DEWA projects) for other project owners, aiming at enhancing the quality of applications’ submission and site operations on DEWA level.

Al Namoos

This service provides electricity connections in just one-step within 5 days, with no connection charges for commercial and industrial projects up to 150 kW.

Digital DEWA

The world’s first digital utility utilizing autonomous systems for renewable-energy, storage, expansion in Artificial Intelligence adoption and providing exceptional digital services.

Shams Dubai
