DEWA to install 840 km of 11kV electrical cables

Project is valued at AED 200 million As part of the expansion of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA’s) electricity grid to provide the most reliable services for its customers, DEWA has recently awarded contracts valued at AED 200 million to a number of national companies to lay 840 km of 11kV electrical cables. “The implementation of this project will manage growing demand for electricity from all our customers. The scope of the contracts include the supply of both aluminum and copper cables that are needed to achieve the objectives of our electricity grid growth plan in various areas of Dubai, these cables will be utilised in several ongoing and upcoming DEWA projects,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA. These cables will be used in several projects at DEWA, and will increase the capacity and efficiency of the electricity distribution grid in Dubai to ensure a continuous and stable supply of electricity to our customers.
