Summary of Dubai 10X

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, mandates the Government of Dubai to be a global leader that is 10 years ahead of other world cities through government innovation. The Dubai 10X is under the leadership of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai,  Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Future Foundation, and HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai. The Dubai 10X initiative, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, seeks to bring about a comprehensive change in the government work system by cooperating with other government organisations in Dubai to adopt new models for future governments. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) spares no efforts to support the Dubai 10X initiative to propel Dubai into the future, positioning it 10 years ahead of other global cities through government innovation.

(Dubai 10X) 1.0

As part of Dubai 10X 1.0, and as part of its efforts to redefine the concept of a utility, DEWA launched Digital DEWA as its digital arm, making DEWA the world’s first digital utility to use autonomous systems for renewable energy, storage, expansion in AI adoption, and providing digital services.

(Dubai 10X) 2.0

The Dubai 10X 2.0, launched at the World Government Summit 2018 to develop joint government services, will see 37 government entities working together to realise projects in different sectors. In this phase, DEWA is working with Dubai Airports and RTA on initiatives to provide new services to inspire the world and enhance Dubai's position as the green economy capital. It will include the following:

Green Airport as a Service

The project will make Dubai the first city in the world to redefine the concept of sustainable airports by harnessing disruptive technologies and using solar and wasted energy, such as kinetic energy, energy resulting from sound; and wind from the movement of aircraft among other various activities.

Green Road as a Service

DEWA and the RTA are implementing this initiative to showcase the first integration of green energy and the innovative future transport system by using solar and wasted energy. The initiative provides a new model for advanced methods that will be applied globally.
