Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) continues to develop its projects by completing, installing, and launching substations across Dubai. DEWA works to increase the efficiency, accountability, and capacity of its electricity transmission network, at a capacity of 400 kilovolts (kV), using the advanced international technology. This is a major part of the transmission process. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, announced the completion, installation, and inauguration of the 400 kV Series Reactor, in addition to a number of other projects, in Jebel Ali, worth a total investment of AED 79 million. This will be operational in 2018.
“DEWA’s ongoing efforts aim to improve its transmission, distribution, and electricity systems and services, to meet the needs of customers, developers, and other sectors, based on the highest standards of availability, accountability, efficiency, and safety. In 2015, there was a total of 20 substations, spanning over 1,120 kilometres,” said Al Tayer.
