The international pavilion of India at the 26th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) will host 29 leading companies keen to highlighting their latest innovations in renewable energy, water treatment, sustainability and more.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organises WETEX annually under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. WETEX 2024 is held from 1 to 3 October 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. It includes 21 international pavilions for countries from around the world.

“The UAE and India enjoy strong relations, as well as decades of collaboration and partnership in several sectors. The wide participation of Indian companies in WETEX 2024 is a clear reflection of the strength of these ties. WETEX attracts many Indian companies. This event is the ideal platform to promote the economic ties between the two nations as it offers vast opportunities to explore strategic partnerships and investments, to achieve the sustainable development goals of both countries,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

Rishabh Sanghvi, Vice-President of the Water Purification and Treatment Association of Gujarat (WAPTAG), said his organisation’s association with WETEX is getting stronger each year, at a time when relations between the UAE and India are deepening.

“The participation of WAPTAG members has been increased by almost 50% compared to last year and we are hoping for much bigger participation in the coming years. Companies joining the WAPTAG India Pavilion at WETEX are among the best manufacturers in India and they will be highlighting cutting-edge technologies and solutions for all drinking, effluent and sewage water treatment solutions. The innovations and solutions provided by our members will surely help all visitors from around the world to get sustainable solutions, which is going to help them to preserve the environment and protect our ecosystem,” said Sanghvi said.

UAE-India economic ties are witnessing rapid growth due to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) that came into effect in May 2022. Trade volume reached $84.5 billion between April 2022 and March 2023, and is expected to hit $100 billion by 2027. The UAE is the seventh largest investor in India, with investments valued at $18 billion in 2023.

Companies joining the Indian pavilion at WETEX will highlight cutting-edge technologies and sustainable projects to support the green economy and realise the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. They will showcase innovative solutions that promote the collaboration between the two countries in technology and the environment, highlighting their commitment to building a more sustainable future for generations to come.
