Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has concluded its participation in the World Governments Summit 2025 as ‘Sustainability Partner’. During the summit, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, delivered a keynote speech highlighting Dubai's leadership in leveraging the disruptive technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially artificial intelligence, in the energy and water sectors, as well as DEWA’s internal operations and customer services.

Al Tayer also met several officials and their delegations participating in the summit. He met Masood Sharif Mahmood, CEO of e& in the UAE. The meeting discussed co-operation and ways to consolidate joint efforts and exchange best practice, experiences and solutions in the technology  sector and in communication network infrastructure.

Al Tayer also met Robert Mumgaard, CEO of Commonwealth Fusion Systems, a globally leading clean energy company, founded in 2018 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The talks addressed the key role of clean energy in reducing emissions, supporting efforts to achieve net zero by 2050, and addressing climate change.

The meeting addressed measures to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two sides, particularly in renewable and clean energy. It further highlighted the latest developments in Masdar’s projects at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest single-site solar park in the world. Masdar is currently implementing the 1,800MW sixth phase of the solar park using photovoltaic solar panels based on the independent power producer (IPP) model.

Al Tayer, in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia UAE), also met HE Fahad Abdulrahman bin Sultan, ERC Deputy Secretary General for Development and International Co-operation at the UAE Red Crescent. The two sides discussed developments in the projects and water networks implemented by Suqia UAE in co-operation with Emirates Red Crescent, to provide clean and potable water to poor and afflicted communities around the world.
