DEWA consolidates the values of the Holy Month of Ramadan based on compassion, moderation and avoidance of waste

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is participating in and organising a range of awareness events and programmes, and field visits throughout Ramadan, as part of its social responsibility to highlight the noble humanitarian values of the Holy Month, which calls for compassion and brotherhood, moderation in various aspects of life and the avoidance of waste. DEWA is also focused on raising community awareness of the innovative digital services, which assist stakeholders in enhancing the efficiency of electricity and water consumption, and efforts to conserve natural resources and reduce the carbon footprint.

“We adopt an integrated social responsibility strategy based on the authentic values of the noble Emirati society and the lofty principles of Islam, which call for social solidarity, giving, good deeds and tolerance. In the UAE’s ‘Year of Community’, held under the theme ‘Hand in Hand’, and during the Holy Month of Ramadan, we intensify our efforts to establish cohesion among individuals, as well as encourage everyone to participate in preserving the sustainability of society's resources for generations to come, and ensure a prosperous and cohesive society working as one,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

DEWA is participating in the Quran Day event organised by the Maktoum Centre for Quran Memorisation, which is part of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD). DEWA is also participating in the Ramadan Festival for People of Determination, organised by the Dubai Club for People of Determination. DEWA aims to introduce People of Determination, their families and club employees to the facilities and services it provides to this vital segment of society. It is also organising field visits to Ramadan iftar tents. The visits include recreational and awareness competitions. DEWA, in collaboration with the Community Development Authority, is organising panel sessions and recreational competitions for senior citizens at Al Barsha Community Centre. These initiatives highlight the advantages and facilities DEWA offers to senior citizens, enabling them to conduct transactions easily and efficiently at any time of the day.
