Service Fees

Deactivation of Electricity/Water (Move-out):
  • AED 100 for disconnecting electricity and water (small meters).
  • AED 300 for disconnecting electricity and water meters (large meters).
  • AED 10 for knowledge fee
  • AED 10 for innovation fee
  • Thukher and Sanad cardholders (UAE nationals) are entitled to 50% discount on De-activation charges*

 

Activation Charges:
  • AED 100 for connecting electricity and water (small meters).*
  • AED 300 for connecting Electricity and water meters (large meters).*
  • AED 10 for registration.
  • AED 10 for knowledge fee
  • AED 10 for innovation fee.
  • “Thukher” and “Sanad” cardholders (UAE nationals) are entitled to 50% discount on Activation charges**

 

Security Deposit:
  • AED 2,000 for a Flat (Residential Premises).
  • AED 4,000 for a villa (Residential Premises).
  • For non-residential premises, the security deposit is calculated based on the premise’s consumption.
  • Security deposit for property owners will be refunded upon sale of the premise only.
  • If there is any difference in Security Deposit amount, this has to be paid before submission of the service request.

 

“Thukher” and “Sanad” Cards:

* “Thukher” Card for Senior Citizens aged 60 and above (issued by Community Development Authority) includes privileges and access to services and facilities in Dubai

* “Sanad” Card for People of Determination (issued by Community Development Authority) includes privileges and access to a package of services and facilities in Dubai

This service is available through IVR only if there is Ejari available, no outstanding amount on the account, and Move To is for the same premise type with no change in security deposit (eg. Villa to villa, or Flat to Flat).
  • Real Estate management companies and Dubai Land Department authorized offices upon Ejari activation (through Government integration between DEWA and Land Department).

Getting Service Information
  • I Search for information on how to transfer the electricity and water services from old to a new premise.

Applying for the Service
Through DEWA Digital Channels:
  • I log-in/register using UAE Pass or DEWA ID.
  • I go to “Transfer of Electricity & Water (Move To)” service and select the related account.
  • I fill out the application specifying the deactivation date & time for the existing premise, then I enter Ejari number of the new premise.
  • I pay the outstanding balance and security deposit (if any) in addition to the connection fees and receive payment receipt.
  • I submit the request and get an on-screen confirmation with a reference number and information about the next steps.

Only if the Ejari Certificate is available with no outstanding balance and no changes to the security deposit.

  • I contact DEWA Customer Care Center - IVR.
  • I choose “Transfer of Electricity & Water” service.
  • I complete all the required verification steps.
  • I select related account.
  • I specify the deactivation date & time for the existing premise, then I enter Ejari number of the new premise and then I submit the request.


*If there is an outstanding balance or if there are changes on the security deposit, the customer will receive a link via SMS to proceed with the service through the digital channels.

Interaction During Processing
  • Upon submission, I receive acknowledgment on my registered email/mobile number with a reference number and tracking link.

Completing Service Interaction
  • Electricity and water will be connected to the new premise within 15 working hours from payment of security deposit and connection fees.
  • The electricity and water will be deactivated at the old premise within 24 working hours from the selected date, and final green bill will be sent to my registered email.
  • Upon final bill settlement, I automatically receive my clearance certificate for the old premise via the registered email.

1. What is Move-To Service? 

Move-To is a new service for customers shifting from one premises to another premises within Dubai.

2. Why is Move-To service easy and convenient for customers? 

With Move-To service, customers can get move –in (Activation of Electricity & Water) service and move-out (Final Bill) service in one interaction point.

3. How can I submit Move To requests? 

You can submit Move-To request mentioning the below fields;

   -   Ejari number for new premises
   -   New premises number
   -   Move in date
   -   DEWA Contract account number for existing premises
   -   Move out date

4. What is Move-out date? 


   -   Move-in date is the date on which you want your electricity & water supplies to get reconnected in your new premises.

5. Which categories of customers can use the Move-To Service? 

Move to service covers residential and commercial categories, keeping in mind that they can shift only within the same category, i.e. Move to from residential to residential premises only and commercial to commercial premises only

6. Do I need to pay DEWA Security Deposit for new premises in Move-To Service? 

   a)   No, you are not required to pay, if Security Deposit in your existing premises is sufficient to cover required Security Deposit in your new premises. Your Security Deposit from existing premises will be transferred to your new premises.

   b)   You will be required to pay the difference of Security Deposit to have required amount of Security Deposit in your new premises, if shifting from Flat to Villa or the Security Deposit in your existing premises is less the required Security Deposit for the new premises

7. What are the pre-requisites for Move-To Service? 

You will be required to settle the outstanding dues if any on the existing premises before applying for the Move-To service

8. Do I need to apply for refund of DEWA Security Deposit for Move-out account? 

No, you are not required to apply for refund of DEWA Security Deposit, as your DEWA Security Deposit will be moved to your new premises.

9. Do I need to settle the Final Bill amount for the premises from which I moved-To? 

Yes, you are required to settle the final bill amount for the premises from which you moved-To.

10. Do I need to submit Ejari for Move-To service? 

Yes, Ejari contract for the moving in to new premises is mandatory.

11. Can I get Move to service at Real Estate Management Companies / Dubai Land Department authorized offices?

No, you are not required to submit DEWA payment receipt to Real Estate Management Company / Dubai Land Department authorized offices for issuance of Ejari. You will only need to provide the DEWA 9 digit premises number (displayed on the door of each premises)
