DEWA summer internship programme trains 116 students

Students range from schools to universities and DEWA scholarship winners As part of its strategy to attract and sponsor local talented students and assist them in building their skills and preparing them to be future leaders, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is currently training 55 students within the world-class utility’s summer internship programme for DEWA’s scholarships at universities and bursaries ranging in different fields. The programme includes six students in finance management, five in mechanical engineering, and 34 in electrical engineering. In addition, DEWA has also offered 16 university students the opportunity to undergo field training in different administrative and technical sectors. “DEWA is always working on attracting university, college and school students to join our teams for the summer internship programme, particularly in the fields of engineering, finance and administration. The areas of study supported by our programme include mechanical, electrical, electronics, and mechatronic engineering as well as business administration, finance, and legal affairs,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. “The summer internship programmes are designed by DEWA to strengthen students’ skills and build their practical expertise in their fields of study to support their future professional endeavors, in addition to developing their positive outlook towards responsible professional performance in the future to serve their communities. As part of DEWA’s strategy, the programme plays an integral part in delivering on our social responsibility of encouraging youth to reach their utmost potential.” “DEWA’s internship summer programme is tailored specifically to enhance students’ skills and qualifications to prepare them for their upcoming professional lives.
