Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) successfully concluded its 2025 Summer Camp for People of Determination, Orphans and Children of Employees. Held in July, the camp hosted 64 schoolchildren in an inclusive, educational and recreational environment designed to promote their awareness about the environment, sustainability and resource protection. The camp included various activities, workshops and an educational tour to a factory run by Mai Dubai – DEWA’s wholly owned water bottling and distribution company, which currently leads the UAE market in distribution and sales. During the tour, the pupils learnt about cutting-edge industrial processes and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Parents expressed their appreciation for DEWA’s tireless efforts to invest in meaningful experiences for their children during the summer holidays. The camp’s programme was tailored to nurture innovation, teamwork and civic responsibility.

“We thank DEWA for its eagerness to provide a positive environment that motivates male and female students to develop and grow, and to nurture their passion in the fields of environment, technology and all aspects that help them build a prosperous professional future and keep pace with their aspirations and the needs of the labour market,” said Thikryat Abdullah Muhammad, mother of participant Mira Al Suwaidi.

Walid Darwish, father of another participant, Mohammed, said: “The outstanding awareness activities organised by DEWA take into account the age and mental needs and requirements of students, and provide interactive spaces and practical applications that contribute to building students' personalities – empowering them and refining their talents, as well as encouraging them to learn continuously and always look forward to excellence and leadership.”

Hessa Abdullah Al Qassim, mother of pupils Hamdan and Salama Abdulrahman Ahrar, said: “DEWA provides opportunities for students to learn communication skills and promote positive and sustainable behaviour, in addition to promoting the noble Emirati values and national identity, in a way that benefits the youth and the country.”
