Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that more than 260 Chinese exhibitors will participate in the Water, Energy and Environment Technology Exhibition (WETEX) in a dedicated pavilion spanning over 2,800 square metres. Organised by DEWA, the 27th edition of WETEX will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 30 September to 2 October 2025. This marks the largest Chinese participation in the exhibition’s history.
Global platform
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, welcomed the broad participation of Chinese companies at WETEX 2025.
“The UAE and the People's Republic of China enjoy well-established strategic relations based on foundations of fruitful co-operation in the fields of economy, investment, energy and technology. Bilateral trade between the UAE and China reached US$102 billion in 2024, up 7% on the previous year. At DEWA, we have strategic partnerships with leading Chinese clean energy companies. This broad participation of Chinese companies in WETEX 2025 is in line with our efforts to strengthen the exhibition’s position as a leading global platform for displaying the most prominent innovations and technological solutions in the clean energy, water and sustainability sectors, in addition to supporting communication and exchange of expertise among the exhibitors and participants from around the world. The exhibition continues to establish partnerships that contribute to achieving the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050, the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050,” said Al Tayer.
A strategic entry point
David Wang, Chairman of MIE Group, the organiser of the Chinese pavilion at WETEX, said: “For Chinese enterprises, WETEX is more than just a trade show – it's a strategic entry point into the MENA market. WETEX helps our exhibitors connect with the right partners, explore new opportunities and support the UAE’s bold vision for a sustainable future. Our role at WETEX 2025 is to empower innovation, strengthen trade and turn shared sustainability goals into real success stories.”
New technologies
WETEX has consistently served as a launchpad for Chinese companies to introduce their latest technologies to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In 2025, participating companies under the MIE umbrella will unveil new solar technologies, smart energy management systems and innovative water management solutions designed for high-impact implementation across arid and urban environments. Throughout its history, WETEX has facilitated multiple strategic partnerships and government linkages, paving the way for smoother market entry and long-term growth for Chinese brands.
Vontron to highlight latest membrane technologies
Since its founding in 1999, Vontron Technology has grown into a global powerhouse with over 200,000 square metres of R&D and production facilities, serving more than 70 million users across more than 130 countries. Through consistent participation at WETEX, Vontron continues to reinforce its dedication to bringing next-generation water treatment technologies to the forefront of regional and international markets.
At this year’s event, Vontron will introduce its full suite of membrane products, ranging from ultra-low pressure (ULP) and seawater desalination (SW) membranes to advanced solutions such as the ZERO Liquid Discharge (ZLD) – ZERO Series and the high-performance Helixfil Series reverse-osmosis membranes.
Mendy Zhao, Brand Manager of Vontron, said: “WETEX has always been a key platform for Vontron to demonstrate our technological excellence and commitment to sustainability. As we face growing global water challenges, our innovative membrane solutions are engineered not only to meet today’s needs but to lead the transition towards a cleaner, more efficient and circular water future. We are proud to work closely with governments and private sectors in the GCC to build more resilient and sustainable water infrastructure.”
Beijing OriginWater to unveil advanced membrane solutions
Reinforcing its commitment to sustainable water innovation, Beijing OriginWater Technology (BOW), a pioneering high-tech enterprise founded in 2001 and based in Zhongguancun Science Park, continues to make a strong impact at WETEX, the premier platform for water, energy and environmental technologies. BOW will showcase its most advanced product lines, including its proprietary hollow fibre microfiltration membrane modules (RF Series), its integrated membrane bio-reactor unit (MBRU) systems and a wide range of applications – from seawater desalination to sustainable drinking water infrastructureand industrial water reuse.
Suoding Li, Chief Scientist of Beijing OriginWater, said: “WETEX continues to be an essential platform for OriginWater to engage with regional leaders such as DEWA, municipalities and EPC contractors.
