DEWA honours Emirati female employees driving organisational excellence and innovation

As part of Emirati Women’s Day celebrations, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), honoured a group of Emirati female employees in recognition of their contributions to the completion of Al Shera’a, DEWA’s new headquarters, and their role in advancing the authority’s achievements across its operations.

The ceremony underscored the vital role of Emirati women in driving development and shaping the nation’s future. Addressing attendees, Al Tayer said he was delighted to participate in the event marking Emirati Women’s Day under the theme, ‘We Emerge Stronger and Better’, and noted that the month-long celebration highlights the UAE’s progress in empowering women as key contributors to sustainable development.

“This occasion serves as a renewed opportunity to take pride in the achievements of Emirati women as we reflect on the steadfast approach established by the late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and carried forward under the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation,” said Al Tayer.

He added that this approach is rooted in the belief that women are indispensable partners in development, and that investing in their empowerment is essential to building a more prosperous, innovative and resilient future.

“At DEWA, we translate this vision into tangible reality. We believe that the contributions and dedication of Emirati women are a source of strength and inspiration behind our continued global leadership. We are proud that DEWA’s female employees are not only partners in our achievements but also key contributors to shaping a brighter and more sustainable future. We are also committed to providing a supportive work environment that empowers them to balance their professional and family responsibilities, contributing to family stability and the upbringing of future generations. Emirati women hold numerous leadership positions across DEWA, with 1,185 women serving in supervisory roles. Emirati women also comprise 85% of DEWA’s total female workforce,” Al Tayer said.

Guided by our national identity, strong sense of responsibility, determination and spirit of teamwork, we continue to shape the future we aspire to achieve,” added Al Tayer.
