  • Security Deposit & outstanding amount have to be paid separately to enable us to release water supply

Service Requirements

    Types of Connections:

  • Single: Premises that include a single meter (i.e. villa, hotel building… etc.).
  • Multi: Premises containing more than one meter within the same property (i.e. building apartment).
  • Development: Housing communities that have more than one meter within the area (i.e. Emaar Developments, DAMAC… etc.). 

    Water Connections Categories:

  • Temporary connection (for construction purposes)
  • Permanent connection
  • Upgradation (increase of water demand)

  • Mandatory Documents for Water Connection:

  • Affection plan (required only if project falling in Dubai free zone areas)
  • Premises details sheets
  • Approved shop drawings

Service Steps & Procedures

  • Enter owner ID (Emirates ID) & Contractor Trade license number used earlier for owner registration in DEWA then click on Search
  • Select the owner to create the application
  • Choose the type of connection (Permanent/ Temporary)
  • Search the DEWA approved building NOC, related to your project
  • Fill all the mandatory fields and attached the required documents based on the type of connection
  • DEWA will visit the site and issue the Cost Estimate
  • Pay through any DEWA approved payment channel
  • After payment, site readiness and NOC clearances, the water meter will be connected within:
    • Small meter connection 3 days
    • Large meter connection 5 days

  • I log-in to DEWA Website, and I go to Getting Water Connections service under Builder Services.
  • I search and link the required building NOC and proceed.
  • I fill-in the service application and attach/upload all required documents and submit the application. Upon submission, I receive a confirmation notification with application's reference number.

  • I receive a notification once the estimate is ready, and I get the invoice/estimation.
  • I pay the required amount through any of DEWA available payment channels.

Completing Service Interaction

  • I submit the completion certificate received from Developer.
  • I apply for temporary water supply disconnection (Permanent Removable Request “PRR”).
  • I receive the meter and water connection and I receive a notification once the supply is released.
    * For large meter, I pay the security deposit, then water supply will be released.
    * For small meter, connection is given based on the estimate payment and AMI approval then water supply will be released.
    * For government utilities and developers, water supply will be released based on undertaking letter/statement code submission.
    * Developer should submit a completion certificate.

You can submit your application through the DEWA portal.

Are any attachments required while submitting a request for a water connection?

  • A no-objection certificate (NOC) from the building
  • An affection plan (if required)
  • A premise excel sheet (for buildings and cluster villas)
  • An Ejari and NOC from the owner (for shops and warehouses)

What file extensions can I attach?

The file extensions you are allowed to attach are PDF, DWF and JPG.

How will I know if there are data entry errors within my application?

Error messages will be highlighted before the application form can be submitted.

What happens to my request after I successfully submit it?

The request for a water connection will go to the concerned department, where it will be processed.

How do I track the status of my application?

To track your application, visit DEWA’s portal, head to the main menu and choose “Track Submitted Request for Getting Water Connection Status”.

Will the request be approved directly?

Once processed by the concerned department, the application may be approved, returned or rejected.

What is an incomplete request for a water connection?

This is when the application is sent back to be revised due to missing documents or information, or when it has errors.

How can I resubmit the incomplete request for a water connection?

To resubmit, log in to DEWA’s portal, go to track your application, edit it and resubmit.

Can I manually submit a request for a water connection?

No. Only online submissions are permitted.

Is the request for a water connection free of charge?

Registration of your application is free but costs related to the request will be calculated depending on a site assessment to ascertain the materials and services needed.
