Notes

  • Period of temporary supply should not exceed 3 days for mourning and 7 days for Weddings.
  • In case of a wedding, customer must apply at least 4 days before the wedding.
  • For mourning. All above steps will be handled by service provider
  • Service fees amount for weddings are non-refundable.

Service Provision Terms and Conditions

  • The applicant must be an Emirati citizen holding a passport and family book issued by any Emirate. However, the funeral or wedding must take place in the Emirate of Dubai.
  • The applicant must hold a passport and a decree issued by the Emirate of Dubai. The funeral or wedding must be held in Dubai.
  • The applicant may be a non-citizen but must be a first-degree relative (father, mother, husband, wife, or child) of an Emirati citizen holding a passport and family book. The funeral or wedding must be held in Dubai.
  • The applicant may be a non-citizen but must be a first-degree relative (father, mother, husband, wife, or child) of an Emirati citizen with a decree and passport issued by the Emirate of Dubai. The funeral or wedding must be held in Dubai.

Getting Service Information
  • I search for details on how to get a temporary electricity connection for tents. Alternatively, I can assign a contractor to handle the full process.

  • I log-in using UAE Pass or DEWA ID, or I can proceed as a “guest” by entering the verification code sent to my mobile.
  • I go to “Getting Electricity Supply for Tents” service and select the related account number.
  • I fill in the service form, including connection dates, location, and required electricity load.
  • I submit the request and get an on-screen confirmation with a reference number and next steps.

Interaction During Processing
  • Upon submission, I receive acknowledgment notification on my registered email/mobile number with a request reference number and tracking link
  • After DEWA technical team visits the site to verify the estimation, I sign an undertaking to have the charges debited from my account..
  • DEWA team inform me about the required NOC (if any) and I submit them accordingly.

Completing Service Interaction
  • Upon site readiness, I inform DEWA to connect the supply.
  • I receive the temporary connection.
  • After the specified period ends, DEWA will disconnect the supply and retrieve the cables, or I can request an extension.

Key Information

DEWA has simplified getting temporary electricity connection through integration with other relevant entities where the requester will inform the RTA about the mourning case and then a tent contractor will be assigned. The tent contractor will be coordinating with all relevant entities including DEWA through a collaborative platform, reducing the efforts and boosting the speed of getting the service.

Can I avail Electricity for more than three days in case of supplies for Mourning?

Electricity for Mourning is free of cost for 3 days. After that standard charges may apply.

Mode of Payment in case applicant need to pay for Services.

Please note that Electricity Supplies for Mourning Tent is Free of Cost for 3 days.

For payment for Wedding, it is advisable to debit the charges to applicant’s DEWA Customer Account Number.

How can I Make application for tents in case of Mourning?

You can contact Govt initiative channel and all other arrangements for Mourning case tents will be done by respective department and Tent Providers.

Are there any NOCs required to submit to DEWA before getting electricity supplies?

There are different reasons to Submit NOCs to DEWA before getting Electricity Supplies release:

  • Civil Defense NOC in case supplies required for tents.

  • RTA NOC is required if there is Road Crossing is required while LV Cable Laying

Are there any reasons where delay may happen in getting electricity supplies released?

DEWA has a standard stipulated time frame for electricity services based on the events, but there are chances for delay in getting electricity supplies for tents if below conditions are not fulfilled by applicants or by the representative of applicants:

  • If the location of tent is not finalised at the time of first visit of DEWA staff

  • If the customer side / supplies side arrangement is not done by tent services company or by applicants

  • If Civil Defense and/or RTA NOC is required and not submitted on time.

  • If no representative available from applicant side while releasing electricity supplies 

  • If safety standards are not maintained by applicants or Tents Service Provider.

What comprises of Estimated cost for getting Electricity Supplies?

Electricity Supplies for Mourning is Free of Cost. For other events, cost calculations depend on below:

  • Service Charges – fixed based on load applied

  • Energy Consumptions charges depends on the days of electricity supplies required
