In an atmosphere filled with patriotism and pride, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) employees celebrated the 53rd Eid Al Etihad. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Executive Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents and a large number of employees attended the celebrations held at DEWA’s head office. Eid Al Etihad celebrations also included a poetry session, a video titled ‘Zayed and Rashid’ and various cultural events reflecting the UAE’s rich heritage.

Al Tayer extended his heartfelt congratulations to HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; their Highnesses, the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates; Their Highnesses, the Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers; as well as all citizens and residents of the UAE, on the occasion of the 53rd Eid Al Etihad, the National Day of the UAE.

“On this day, we celebrate the journey of the Union established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum and the Founding Fathers, may their souls rest in peace, whose footsteps are followed by our wise leadership. This blessed journey has made the UAE a global role model not only in prosperity and progress, but in tolerance and harmony among all members of society, as well as an oasis of security and stability, and one of the most important global economic centres, consolidating its leading position in all areas,” said Al Tayer.

“Eid Al Etihad embodies the profound meanings of unity and solidarity, which are the pillars of the UAE’s renaissance and prosperity. At DEWA, we are proud to be an integral part of this journey of building and development, contributing to the aspirations of our visionary leadership which anticipates the future and strives to achieve it. From the ‘Spirit of the Union’, we draw the strength that drives us to enhance the UAE’s competitiveness in all fields. Celebrating Eid Al Etihad is an invitation to all who call the UAE home to promote the values of inclusion and national responsibility, and to uphold the principles of sustainability and joint work, so that we may contribute to building a sustainable future for ourselves and for generations to come,” added Al Tayer.

“On this day, we renew our pledge of loyalty and belonging to the UAE, and to our wise leadership, to safeguard our national achievements and continue to strive for further accomplishments, so that our nation’s flag remains high, fluttering in the sky of excellence and leadership, and so that the UAE becomes the world’s leading country by its centennial in 2071. In conclusion, we pray to Almighty Allah to protect the UAE, its leadership and its people, and to continue bestowing upon us the blessings of security and stability,” concluded Al Tayer.

DEWA’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations at its head office, which was decorated with the UAE flag’s colours, featured a poetry session by Emirati poets Mosbeh Ali Al Kaabi, Ali Al Nuaimi, Salem Al Kaabi and Hamdan Alsamahi. DEWA’s head office, organised many heritage and traditional activities and events, and saw a memorable performance by Al Harbiya Band. DEWA also organised various activities at its centres in Jebel Ali, Al Hudaiba, the Sustainable Building in Al Quoz, Warsan, Al Ruwayyah and the Sustainability and Innovation Centre at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Additionally, DEWA launched a comprehensive website featuring various topics related to the 53rd Eid Al Etihad.
