Boon for infrastructure projects as NOC applications approved by DEWA rise by 29% to keep pace with growing population

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced a 29% increase in approved applications for no-objection certificates (NOCs) for infrastructure and information services in 2024, compared to 2023. DEWA’s Marafeq Smart Feature contributes to accelerating the issuance of NOCs for infrastructure and information services, with 36,576 NOCs approved since the launch of the smart feature up to the end of 2024.

This reflects growing interest – by registered service authorities, consultants, contractors and developers – in general and network service projects, to keep pace with the Dubai’s rising population and the increase in demand for electricity and water services.

DEWA’s Marafeq Smart Feature enhances collaboration between DEWA and other utilities in Dubai. It also reduces the number of steps to secure the NOC approvals from seven to three, and the time from 60 to 20 minutes.
