DEWA organises workshop on fire safety in collaboration with Dubai Civil Defence

The Women’s Committee of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised a training workshop, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), on the basics of fire prevention and safety, and how to deal with fires when they break out. Sixty female DEWA employees were trained on evacuation procedures and the use of extinguishers to suppress fires. The workshop highlighted the importance of personal safety and that of others, as well as the need to maintain calm to avoid panic and scrambling. They also learnt about key practices to reduce fire risks and the necessary precautionary measures to prevent blazes.

“Under the guidance and support of DEWA’s top management, we organise awareness-raising sessions, as well as training activities and events, in co-operation with government and private entities, to develop the skills of female employees on how to deal with various challenges, and to help them fulfil their roles at home and work to the fullest, reflecting positively on their professional and social lives and on society as a whole. We take it upon ourselves to provide female employees with the necessary tools to ensure their safety and that of their families, and to promote their physical and psychological health,” said Fatima Al Jokar, Chairperson of the Women’s Committee at DEWA.

The female employees praised DEWA's interactive activities to improve their readiness and early preparedness to enhance public safety, ensuring their safety and that of the community.
