HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), said: “Inspired by the profound and far-sighted commitment of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consolidate the UAE’s global leadership in volunteerism and humanitarian service, we embrace and promote these values as reflecting the authentic Emirati spirit. Volunteerism is not only a noble human value but a vital force in advancing sustainable and comprehensive development. As we mark the UAE’s ‘Year of Community’, we reaffirm our commitment to expanding volunteer opportunities and deepening a culture where every act of giving strengthens the social fabric and brings us closer together. At DEWA, we proactively support efforts aimed at building a more cohesive, compassionate and resilient society. As a socially responsible organisation, we encourage our employees and stakeholders to embrace volunteerism at an institutional level and individually, and to contribute meaningfully through inclusive humanitarian programmes that uplift communities and elevate quality of life, particularly for the most vulnerable.”
Al Tayer added: “Between 2013 and 2024, DEWA launched 465 social initiatives, through which its employees recorded 249,843 volunteer hours in humanitarian and community initiatives, benefitting many countries around the world. The society’s happiness rate with DEWA’s services reached 94.51% in 2024.”
