His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO), affirmed that young people today have access to knowledge, technology and global networks on a scale that previous generations could not have imagined, noting that their ideas and capabilities can contribute to accelerating the transition towards the green economy.

This came during His Excellency's keynote speech at the "Youth Roundtable: From Ideas to Impact – Scaling Youth-Led Solutions for the Green Economy" session. The session was organized by WGEO through its Youth and Academia Platform, as part of the  twelfth edition of the World Green Economy Summit 2026, taking place from 21 to 22 October 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme "From Success to Scale: Showcasing the Green Economy."

His Excellency Al Tayer said: "It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Youth Roundtable at the World Green Economy Summit. The transition to a green economy is one of the defining transformations of our time. It is reshaping how we produce and consume energy, manage our natural resources, design our cities, develop new technologies and create opportunities for sustainable economic growth."

His Excellency affirmed: "Young people today have access to knowledge, technology and global networks on a scale that previous generations could not have imagined. Your ideas and capabilities can contribute to accelerating renewable energy, improving resource efficiency, advancing the circular economy and developing the technologies and business models that will drive the green transition."

He emphasised: "This same belief guides our work at the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO). Through our Youth and Academia Platform, the Global Green Economy Young Leaders Program, our partnerships with leading academic institutions and initiatives such as this Youth Roundtable, we are creating opportunities for young people to develop their capabilities, exchange knowledge, connect with leaders and experts, and contribute to the global green economy."

He continued: "Our discussion today is built around three pillars: First, innovation and green entrepreneurship, second, finance, skills, and market access, and third, policy and partnerships for scale."

He explained: "The theme of today's roundtable, 'From Ideas to Impact,' reflects this ambition. It is about creating the conditions for youth-led ideas to grow into viable solutions through innovation and entrepreneurship, access to finance, skills and markets, and the partnerships and policies needed to achieve scale."

He concluded: "The green economy will create new industries, new professions and new opportunities. Your generation has the opportunity not only to participate in this transition, but to help shape its direction and accelerate its impact. Thank you, and I wish you a productive and inspiring discussion."
