Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) celebrated World Creativity and Innovation Day, observed annually on 21 April, by organising a series of activities designed to strengthen a culture of innovation across the organisation and the wider community. This aligns with the UAE’s vision to build a competitive, knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and future readiness.

To mark the occasion, DEWA honoured a number of innovators from various sectors in recognition of their outstanding contributions to advancing innovation and fostering a work environment rooted in excellence and positive competitiveness.

The activities organised by DEWA included a session on 3D printing and a Youth Innovation Workshop aimed at empowering the next generation of innovators and enhancing their design thinking skills. DEWA also organised the ‘Innovation Play’ activity, offering employees the opportunity to explore innovative ideas and transform them into practical, implementable solutions. This supports the development of smart government services, enhances operational efficiency and improves the customer experience.

In addition, the ‘DEWA Family’ activity engaged employees’ children in interactive experiences designed to foster creative thinking and nurture an innovation mindset from an early age.

These initiatives reflect DEWA’s commitment to promoting applied innovation, strengthening collaboration across its divisions, supporting smart transformation and sustainability, and empowering and recognising national talent, in line with the UAE’s national priorities.
