In recognition of their outstanding performance and commitment to continuous learning and professional development, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has honoured distinguished DEWA employees who graduated from the Master’s Programme in Future Energy Systems and Technology, which DEWA launched in 2019 in partnership with the University of California, Berkeley, USA.

“Today, I am pleased to honour the outstanding graduates of the Master’s Programme in Future Energy Systems and Technology, a pioneering programme we launched in 2019 in collaboration with the University of California, Berkeley - one of the world’s most prestigious universities in engineering, technology and innovation. The programme was designed to provide DEWA’s Emirati employees with the opportunity to obtain a master’s degree in a specialised future-focused field, supporting our continuous efforts to achieve the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai as a leading global hub for shaping the future. As we celebrate 193 graduates across five cohorts, we also celebrate a national achievement that supports our efforts to develop the capabilities and skills of the next generation of leaders and innovators in clean and renewable energy technologies, in line with a clear strategy and roadmap to transform Dubai into a centre of excellence and innovation in advanced technologies. The programme has enabled participants to study advanced topics including artificial intelligence, machine learning, renewable energy systems, cybersecurity and more,” added Al Tayer.

The knowledge and experience you have gained represent valuable assets that we look forward to leveraging to drive innovation, enhance resource efficiency and contribute to achieving net-zero goals. Al Tayer thanked the University of California, Berkeley, and everyone involved in this programme for delivering a pioneering academic experience. Their contribution has played an important role in preparing highly qualified national talent capable of leading the future, in line with our leadership’s forward-looking vision for transforming the energy sector and advancing global climate action.
