DEWA and HBMSU to enhance female leadership through ‘For Her’ training initiative
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) launched the fourth batch of the For Her programme, in collaboration with Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), under the theme ‘Women Create Tomorrow: A Vision that Transcends the Present’. The initiative is part of DEWA’s ongoing efforts to develop the leadership and innovation skills of its female employees. Over a nine-month period, 25 participants will engage in a series of interactive workshops and training courses led by HBMSU experts, exploring topics such as transformational leadership, effective communication, change management, emotional intelligence and institutional innovation.

DEWA’s digital services accelerate issuance of soil investigation NOC by 81%
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has enabled contractors to submit soil investigation no-objection certificate (NOC) applications through the Roads and Transport Authority’s digital platform. This initiative enhances Dubai’s advanced digital infrastructure and ensures seamless integration across government systems. The instant auto-approval for soil investigation NOCs has accelerated certificate issuance by 81%.

DEWA increases 2030 capacity target of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park by 60%
A recent report by the International Renewable Energy Agency, in collaboration with the COP30 Brazilian Presidency and the Global Renewables Alliance, revealed that global renewable energy capacity surged to a record 582 gigawatts (GW) in 2024, including 452GW from solar. These achievements are a strong push towards achieving the UAE Consensus target set during COP28 in Dubai, which calls for tripling renewables to 11.2 terawatts (TW) by 2030. This remarkable progress shows that the world is moving steadily towards the targeted goals and needs to continue this positive momentum by adding 1,122GW annually to achieve these global climate ambitions.
