DEWA establishes an integrated model for empowering youth and preparing future leaders
On the occasion of International Youth Day, observed annually on 12 August, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth, investing in their capabilities and enhancing their participation in digital transformation, sustainability and innovation. This reflects DEWA’s integrated approach to developing a generation of young people capable of anticipating and shaping the future, in line with the National Youth Agenda 2031, which focuses on developing future skills, technology, leadership and quality of life.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award, supervised by the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia UAE), under the umbrella of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, plays a pivotal role in bringing a life to communities suffering from severe water scarcity. This impact is achieved by empowering winning projects to deliver far-reaching positive change – providing clean, safe water to millions of beneficiaries, improving public health, reducing waterborne diseases and easing the time and effort required to access water. As a result, communities are gaining greater opportunities for education, employment and an improved quality of life.

DEWA commissioned 793 new 11kV substations in H1 2026 to support Dubai’s growth
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), announced that DEWA commissioned 793 new 11kV substations across Dubai during the first six months of 2026. The construction and associated works involved 624,340 man-hours, all completed under stringent quality, efficiency and safety standards.
