DEWA confirms readiness of its networks to ensure reliable services around the clock
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has affirmed its full readiness to provide electricity and water services in line with the highest standards of reliability, efficiency and quality, supporting Dubai’s needs during various occasions and events. DEWA continues to intensify its efforts by deploying teams of engineers and technicians across the emirate to ensure uninterrupted and reliable services around the clock.

DEWA’s Autonomous Soiling Detector improves solar PV system performance and cuts dust-related energy losses
The Autonomous Soiling Detector on Photovoltaic Panels, developed by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has achieved tangible improvement for PV system performance. Prototype tests at DEWA’s head office parking showed the detector’s effectiveness in reducing losses caused by dust accumulation by 10%, in addition to lowering cleaning and maintenance costs. The device has been granted a patent from the GCC Patent Office and from Canada, Jordan, India, Australia, Japan and Spain.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award integrates cutting-edge technologies, including AI, into its criteria for creativity and innovation, aiming to advance solutions that benefit humanity
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia UAE), has announced the enhancement of the ‘creativity and innovation’ criteria for the fifth cycle of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award. The move will see artificial intelligence integrated into the evaluation process. While chairing the board’s fourth meeting of 2025, Al Tayer emphasised the award’s support for initiatives that harness the latest technologies, including AI, to better serve humanity. He noted that this approach aligns with the UAE’s vision to empower creative talent, accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge solutions and transform innovative ideas into practical projects that enhance quality of life globally.
